Pressing On

February 2010

Dear Friends,

Isn't it wonderful when we are cruising through life and things are going so well!! There is nothing like it. It's like not having a care in the world. All things on all sides are looking good! Of course, then life gets involved and trouble shows up. Now we have to deal with issues we did not want to, or things that we were not even expecting. And it seems the 'care freeness' of life has to take a back seat to issues and problems. It is in these situations that our heart cries out to press on past these issues and get back to cruising. When actually the real cruising in life is based on our heart crying out to press forward on an everyday basis.

The Apostle Paul says in Philippians 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Our heart cry is to be making a demand on what is provided, daily. Our pressing on is our heart's cry. This is the mark, or the goal, of Christlikeness. The upward call is not a position of operation, a goal of ambition or success. It's about becoming like Christ. Is it time to start bearing down on that goal in life? The more we increase in this vital part of our life, the more we can cruise on a regular basis. It's all about our becoming, not just our having or getting.

For example, past directions have included; The Year of Jubilee, Year of Vision, Year of the Anointing, Go in the Power of the Anointing, Revealing of God's Glory, Year of Harvest. Although these directions were given in times past, they have not stopped until this day. As we moved in those directions in those years, the jubilee, glory, anointing, and harvest, manifestations took place regularly as we pressed more and more into the Word of God and direction of the Holy Spirit. Those manifestations continue as needed, and we are ready to flow together with them as we had learned in years past.

The cry of our heart, our yearning, or our pressing on, is based on a believing heart and is the cry of faith. We are the righteous and we are to live by faith. As our spirit cries out, we touch God's Spirit. This is not an emotion or a feeling. This is communication between a Creator and His creation.

Romans 8:22-23 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. There is a groaning within us. A sigh, as one in distress or squeezed by circumstances. The circumstance being: We are still in this body and not yet in the glorified presence of our Lord. There is a groaning or a yearning to be more like Christ. Therefore, this is not about the circumstances around us, but the one we live in, being in this body. It is always a matter of the heart.

Philippians 3:12 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. I have been laid hold of by Christ Jesus to be conformed to His image and to fulfill the part of His service according to the measure of the anointing placed in me. There are varieties of gifts of the Holy Spirit, varieties of ministries of the Lord, and effects of the working of God in all. As I conform to His image in life, I conform to His ministry of serving that is in me according to the measure of the anointing residing within. As I serve Him, I become more and more mature in becoming what I had been laid hold of for.

Matthew 3:1-2 Ben Campbell Johnson Translation: Change your attitude and your actions for an invasion of the Spirit dimension is imminent. The cry is the same today, not for the coming of Messiah as the spotless Lamb. But for His coming for His people that are prepared to be pulled out of the coming wrath. There is a mighty force coming, an intrusion, an appearance. For the 10 virgins preparation was a necessity for the coming of the bridegroom. Five were prepared. His appearing is imminent, impending, and likely to be near. Contemporary English Version says:"Turn back to God! The kingdom of heaven will soon be here." God's Word Translation: "Turn to God and change the way you think and act, because the kingdom of heaven is near."

Matthew 3:11 "As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

A quality of fire is that it will not say "Enough". (Proverbs 30:15-16)
Restoration of the fire of God is burning in us.
It is a fire that is always hungry for more.
An ever present desire.
Fire that burns chaff, and brings forth purity. It renews, and it restores.
An invasion of the Spirit dimension is imminent.
Do we need to be just like Him to be going w/Him? Not perfectly, but we should be pressing in for more of Him, like a fire, NEVER saying enough, ALWAYS hungry for more, ALWAYS having a 'never quitting' attitude, ALWAYS bearing down on the prize.

Friends, this is what will help us to cruise in life. This cry of our heart for more of Him, to take hold of what we have been taken hold of for. It is not the circumstances around us that should determine our life, but the circumstances within. When what is within is correct, then dealing with what is around, becomes easy. Then we cruise through life, and cruise through everything that we ever have to deal with.

Let's press on past 1st gear, then 2nd gear, then 3rd gear, then 4th gear, and press on in to overdrive. The cruise is so much smoother!!
